Assessment of Sound/Symbol Correspondence

The  Assessment of Sound/Symbol Correspondence (ASSC) is eight (8) pages long and measures 8.5″ x 11.0″.  It assesses a student’s knowledge of 144 of the most common phonograms in the English.  These phonograms include:

• long and short vowels

• vowel teams

• advanced vowel teams

• consonant blends

• consonant digraphs

• phonograms with multiple sounds

• final stable syllables with two sounds

This assessment is a wonderful diagnostic tool.
